1. The death of Queen Elizabeth is commemorated on the anniversary of her death.

Today marks one year since Queen Elizabeth died. Kate Middleton attended the service at St. Davids Cathedral in Wales, which was attended by Prince William.

Elizabeth II led England’s Royal Family 70 years and steered a period diplomatic activity in the Western World. She died at the age 96, making her Britain’s longest reigning monarch.

2. American trapped in Turkish cave

Mark Dickey, an American caver, is stranded 3,600 feet below ground in southern Turkey. According to the Turkish Caving Federation, he fell ill with suspected gastrointestinal hemorrhaging last weekend.

Dickey was exploring the Morca Sinkhole, which is located in Morca Valley near Anamur. Around 182 people are currently working on the site to rescue him, including 32 individuals who are still inside the cave.

Dickey, who is currently in stable condition, is due to undergo a rescue operation on Saturday.
