
This weekend was another gorgeous one, so I took advantage of the beautiful weather to work more on my porch. The porch boards need to be stained and sealed by Wednesday, when my studio cabinets will arrive. After the studio cabinets arrive, I will not think about my front porch. After pressure washing the front porch area, the porch boards looked better. So, I decided to do a small amount of sanding in order to remove any roughness that was left behind by the pressure washing and then seal the boards. As I sanded, the boards’ color began to change dramatically. I realized I couldn’t do a quick job of sanding. I took a lot longer than anticipated and did a much deeper sanding of the porch than I originally thought it needed. The sanding took away so much color.
