1. Israel and Hamas agree to extend the truce by 2 days

Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement to extend their truce by two days, according to Qatar’s foreign ministry, “under the same conditions reached before.” Israel and Hamas previously agreed to a four-day pause in fighting to facilitate the release of at least 50 women and children held hostage in Gaza, as well as 150 Palestinian prisoners in Israel.

Israel originally announced that every 10 hostages freed, an extra day would be allowed for the ceasefire. Israel and the U.S. will both continue to suspend drone flights over Gaza six hours a day.

2. Palestinian children released in hostage swap

As part of a hostage-exchange deal with Hamas that was announced on Sunday, 39 Palestinians from Israeli jails were released. Many of these prisoners were under 18 years old. Since then, many have accused Israeli forces brutal beatings and torture.
