Roseann Fernandez of Tru Alchemy is trying to change this.


The Vice President of Brand Marketing and Creative at the skincare company encourages customers to pay attention to what they are putting on their face. Tru Alchemy uses ingredients that are responsibly sourced, free of sulfates and silicones, parabens and fillers, and have been formulated without sulfates.

Fernandez states that “despite the popularity of the U.S. beauty industry, there hasn’t really been any legislation in place in terms of safety for products and ingredients.” She believes that the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022 has been helpful.

President Biden signed MoCRA, which is a law that requires cosmetic companies and their facility to be registered with the MoCRA on December 29th.
