Tommy Dorfman isn’t just using her platform to uplift queer and trans voices — she’s building a new one entirely.

She is best known for her role as the star of Netflix’s hit series 13 Reasons WhyThe actor is also a co-founder of CURRAN, a new platform for queer lifestyle. The digital magazine features the perspectives and artwork of members of queer communities in order to “uplift” and promote their voices.

Dorfman told Tracy E. Gilchrist, “All I wish to do is to continue to elevate and promote queer people and transgender people and to redistribute wealth and opportunities to them.” Equal Entertainment. “I’ve seen how powerful storytelling is in changing perspectives. “There aren’t many spaces doing this type of work, and highlighting queer artists and trans people in particular so they can earn a living from their art.”

Tommy Dorfman Presents Queer Joy in New Online Platform

Dorfman believes that CURRAN is a particularly important launch at a time when conservatives are pushing to censor LGBTQ+ artwork across the nation. She believes there’s “a lot of regress right now in queer liberation, the transliberation movement,” due to legislation that bans books.
