1. Trump goes off-the-rails during Fraud Trial Testimony
It was as expected when former President Donald Trump testified in New York in his ongoing fraud case.
Trump sparred with Arthur Engoron. The judge began by telling Trump to “please move the matter along and answer questions” as Trump rambled. The Judge repeatedly repeated phrases such as “let me ask it again” and “the question is” before ordering attorneys Chris Kise, Alina Habba and others to “control” the client.
“That was an easy yes-no question.” Engoron said: “I beg you to control him.” Later, he added, “We’re not here to listen to what he says. We are here for him to answer questions.
2. Israel-Hamas Conflict intensifies antisemitic and islamophobic hatred crimes
The Department of Homeland Security warned that following the deadly Hamas attack on Israel, Oct. 7, as well as Israel’s retaliation to the attacks, there is a “heightened threat in the near-to medium-term.”
The organization stated that “targeted violent attacks could increase as the war progresses.”
