Okay, ok. I’ve entered my obscure costume era. I’m hoping that a few of you will know this reference and if not, honestly, it’s such a great book that you should go and read it and then come back and appreciate this year’s family costume for Halloween. I’m sure you all know how much I enjoy a good Halloween costume. Usually, I plan it out throughout the entire year but this year I was not thinking about it at all.
Elsa Beskow, a Swedish illustrator and writer, has written a book called Woody, Hazel, Little Pip. Her illustrations, particularly in her books about flowering plants, are delightful. I’ve always wanted to do costumes based on her Flower’s Festival book, but some boys, I won’t name who, were not excited about that. Hmphf. SO, we went with Woody, Hazel, and Little Pip, which was Jasper’s most requested book in the last year.
Family Costume
I’m not even sure I can find pictures of the book to show you the reference. I’m writing this from Australia where we’ve been visiting our family and I forgot to take pictures of the book before I left…this might be tricky. No wait, just took a look around–I found them. It’s the beauty of Internet for everyone.

Celine, our internship this semester, was in charge of this project. She did an amazing job.
